Policies for RSR Guitar Studio

Experience has taught me that many students will have several "no shows" during their lesson times. Consequently, I have had to adopt the following policies. I'm sorry if they seem a bit harsh, but, again, this is the voice of experience.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE POLICIES IF YOU AGREE TO TAKE GUITAR LESSONS WITH RSR GUITAR STUDIO.

You must provide 24 notice to reschedule or cancel a guitar lesson. The only exception is a serious emergency (i.e. something involving sirens or stethoscopes) for which you can provide documentation.  Sorry, but I plan my schedule around your lessons, and I can't fill a slot if the lesson is canceled at short notice.

If you are more than 15 minutes late to your lesson (30 or 60 minute), you forfeit your lesson fee.

Payment for the 4 Lesson Plan is due no later than 24 hours before the first lesson.  All lessons
under this plan must be used within an 8 week period.  If not used by that time, you forfeit your lesson fee. The 4 Lesson Plan will allow you to reserve the same slot for each week, if you choose, by scheduling lessons ahead of time.  Lessons can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice, but must be used within 7 days of the original scheduled lesson time or you forfeit your lesson fee for that lesson (does not affect other lessons for the plan).

For Single Lessons, payment is also due no later than 24 hours before the lesson.  Lessons may be rescheduled with 24 hours notice, but must be used within 7 days of the original scheduled lesson time or you forfeit your lesson fee.

If you fail to contact me to reschedule, you forfeit your lesson fee. I will not honor an appointment time unless you have already paid to schedule the time. Also, you must schedule your lesson no later than 48 hours before your planned lesson time (e.g. if you want a lesson on Sunday at 3:30 pm, you must schedule no later than Friday at 3:30 pm). You are welcome, however, to schedule your lessons as far in advance as you would like. If a conflict arises, I will contact you for rescheduling.

If you're wondering whether I can help you improve, you are welcome to schedule a free initial phone consultation so we can become better acquainted, or we can correspond via email. I don't expect you to pay for a lesson until you talk to me so we can discuss how  I can help you become a better musician.

After the consultation, though, you will need to pay in advance to schedule your time with me. You can pay via check (I will provide you with the address via email) or you can pay online via Paypal (use the link on the "Scheduling and Payments" page).

If you pay by check, the check must clear before you may have your lesson.  Returned checks will be charged $35.00 in addition to the check amount.

All guitar lessons must be paid for at least 24 hours in advance. If you have a scheduled lesson, but haven't paid for it by that time, your lesson will be canceled.

Please note: I do not make exceptions to the prepay rule under any circumstances, so please don't ask.

The best way to contact me is via the "Contact" link above.

You may pay for as many guitar lessons as you want and no more. If you only want one lesson a month, that's fine, but you will still need to pay in advance (with the exception of the initial consultation). No contracts!

Parents are more than welcome to wait in the studio while their child is having a lesson if they wish.  Parents who are taking lessons, however, may not bring their younger children along. Sorry, but it's RSR Guitar Studio, not RSR Daycare :) .

I look forward to helping you become a better musician and guitarist!
